Samuel Square – West London Parks

There are plenty of parks and green spaces throughout West London that are great for a winter walk, fun in the Summer months or a serene park run all year round. Here’s a roundup of our favourites.

Hyde Park

The Capital’s largest park offers 350 acres of green space to explore. In warmer weather you can enjoy a spot of sunbathing on the deck chairs, or a boat ride along the Serpentine Lake. In the absence of Winter Wonderland this year, Hyde park is still a must-visit for a take-away coffee and a meander with the swans along the banks of the Serpentine.

Kensington Palace Gardens

Originally part of Hyde Park, Kensington Palace Gardens is home to some of London’s biggest attractions, including Kensington Palace and the Albert Memorial. With a giant wooden pirate ship, the Diana Memorial Playground offers plenty of play sculptures for kids to enjoy.

Holland Park

Holland Park, As one of London’s best kept secrets, is home to a massive woodland area full of wildlife and wildflowers, a waterfall, picturesque flower gardens and a Japanese zen garden. With 54-acres to stroll among, Holland Park is beautiful to visit all year round.

Regents Park and Primrose Hill

As one of the six royal parks, Regent’s Park combines large open spaces with tree-lined pathways, formal gardens, and four children’s playgrounds. The park offers easy access to the ZSL London Zoo and Primrose Hill; a spot for spectacular views of London. The summit is almost 63 metres above sea level, and is one of the six protected viewpoints in London.

Battersea Park

Battersea Park is located south of the river, and features a boating lake, duck pond, tennis courts, running track, bike hire, cafes and Battersea Park Zoo. Battersea Park is also full of culture and history, such as a large Buddhist Peace Pagoda which overlooks the Thames.

St James’s Park
St. James’s Park offers a little something for everyone. Located near Buckingham Palace, The Mall, St. James’s Palace, Horse Guards and the Birdcage Walk, the park is home to historical monuments, stunning flowerbeds and wide open green spaces.
