Samuel Square – Arts and Crafts
Located in the highly sought-after West Kensington neighbourhood, Samuel Square is our brand new development of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Each apartment at Samuel Square is in the process of being completely overhauled to an exquisite standard, and will feature modern touches that complement the building’s original 1920’s Arts and Crafts movement design.
Arts and Craft design relates back to the idea of traditional craftsmanship, and is executed in architectural design using simple forms, often of medieval, romantic or folk styles.
The original Arts and Crafts architectural design was a reaction to the damaging effects of industrialisation, and marked a change in the value that society placed on skill and workmanship.
The outside shell of Samuel Square were originally built in 1927, which falls at the latter end of the movement. Suna, our interior designers, spent a large amount of time researching the original Arts and Craft design to incorporate as many influences in Samuel Square as possible.
This influence can be seen in the kitchen and bathroom design, where Suna has managed to subtly weave the most relevant Arts and Crafts design aspects, such as the colour palette and interior fixtures, into the new apartments.
