The Best Coffee Shops in and around West Kensington

With the ‘rule of six’ being brought back into place on 29th March, there’s only one way to celebrate, and that’s with a socially distanced coffee date. The area around West Kensington is bursting with quaint coffee shops offering delicious drinks and sweet treats, meaning you’re spoilt for choice.

To make your decision that little bit easier we’ve put together a list of our favourite coffee shops in the neighbourhood.

1.    Hjem

Experience a little piece of Scandinavia in South Kensington with a visit to Hjem. This café, open for takeaway, offers perfectly poured coffee and danish-inspired pastries and baked goods. As well as offering delicious Scandinavian treats, the interior of Hjem reflects its European heritage too. Think rustic wooden furniture, greenery and wicker baskets.

2.    Fait Maison

Notable for its bright and colourful Parisian style interior and sugary treats – Fait Maison is not one to miss. Just a browse at their selection of unique and striking cakes is enough to have your mouth watering. Their  multi-coloured macarons are almost too pretty to eat. Among the sweet treats, Fait Maison also offers fantastic coffee, perfect for taking on your walk for an extra boost of energy.

3.    Farm Girl Cafe

Tucked behind the idyllic St Peters Church on bustling Portobello Road you’ll find Farm Girl Café. Recognisable from their pink tableware, and even pinker drinks, Farm Girl offers a playful twist on your typical cappuccinos and lattes by adding decorative rose petals and intricate designs to the top of each coffee. Not only do their drinks look great, but they boast some of the best flavours in the neighbourhood.

4.    Over Under

Just a short walk from West Kensington in Earls Court lies Over Under, a cosy cafe shop known for its delectable coffee. From its flat white to Chai Latte, Over Under offers some of the best coffee in the area. Why not try one of their

Rueben toastie which brings a slice of New York city to London.

5.    Montparnasse Cafe

We may not be able to fly to Paris just yet, but you can still experience the flavours in West London. Montparnasse is a snug, independently owned, coffee shop which brings a taste of France to Kensington. Offering a delicious blend of coffee and a whole cabinet full of freshly baked patisserie, be sure to mark it as your next rest spot.
